Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes in Worthing is recruiting a Dementia Wellbeing Coordinator at Berkeley Lodge. You will focus on emotional, social, and physical quality of life for people living with dementia and support the planning and facilitation of person-centred activities.

The role offers 36 hours per week, 9am-5pm, including alternate weekends, with access to earned wages on demand, free uniform and DBS, pension, and training and development.

Qualifications

• Experience in dementia care and understanding of different dementia types.
• Experience working with older people in care home or community settings.
• Ability to plan and facilitate person-centred activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Kind, caring, positive team player.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and implement individualised care and activity plans based on residents’ life histories, hobbies, and personal preferences.
• Coordinate diverse, therapeutic activities (e.g., reminiscence therapy, sensory sessions, and gentle exercise) that promote dignity and independence.
• Monitor residents' cognitive and emotional wellbeing, adjusting wellbeing strategies as needed while maintaining accurate records.
• Support planning and facilitation of person-centred activities and cognitive stimulation therapy.
• Engage with residents and families to ensure a compassionate, inclusive environment.
