Job DescriptionDemand Planner - Supply Chain (Long term temp).

  • Annual Salary: Up to £40,000 (full time equivalent)
  • Location: South Birmingham near Solihull
  • Job Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Demand Planner. This role is pivotal in managing inventory levels and forecasting demand to ensure business needs and customer satisfaction are met. Initially offered as a temporary position, there is potential for it to become permanent based on performance. This role is suited for individuals who excel in a collaborative environment and are proficient in using advanced forecasting tools.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and execute inventory management plans to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Analyse sales patterns, market trends, and seasonal fluctuations to forecast future demand accurately.
  • Utilise a leading forecasting & replenishment system, to manage demand forecasts, product lifecycles, and order placements.
  • Collaborate daily with Category Management, Branch Operations, Central Distribution, and Suppliers to monitor stock levels and track the progress of purchase orders through the supply chain.
  • Lead regular review meetings with stakeholders to discuss forecast accuracy, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Employ strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills, maintain excellent organisation, and demonstrate effective communication.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Scheduler or Planner in a similar role within supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical forecasting and inventory management software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
