Job summary

Hunter Savage is hiring a Demand Planner on behalf of a leading FMCG client to drive forecast accuracy and support S&OP processes. The role collaborates with Commercial, Sales, Marketing and NPD to translate data into actionable demand insights.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in fast-paced FMCG environments and a solid grasp of Excel-based forecasting and SAP APO tools.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Demand Planner or forecast analyst in FMCG is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of demand planning principles and S&OP processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain short, mid, and long-term demand forecasts across product categories.
  • Analyze sales trends to improve forecast accuracy and identify risks/opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain to align forecasts with plans.
  • Support S&OP with forecast updates, scenario modelling and insights.
  • Build dashboards and forecasting models using Excel.

The Role
  • Develop and maintain accurate short, medium and long-term demand forecasts across multiple product categories.
  • Analyse daily, weekly and monthly sales trends to improve forecast accuracy and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Utilise SAP APO (Demand Planning) and forecasting tools to generate statistical forecasts and optimise planning performance.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Sales, Marketing, Category and Supply Chain teams to align demand forecasts with business plans.
  • Support the S&OP process by presenting forecast updates, scenario modelling and demand insights.
  • Evaluate promotional activity, new product launches and customer requirements to ensure accurate demand planning.
  • Build reporting dashboards and forecasting models using advanced Excel techniques.
  • Monitor key planning KPIs including forecast accuracy and adherence to sales plans.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, data quality and reporting capabilities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and supply chain transformation projects.
The Person
  • Previous experience as a Demand Planner, Supply Planner or Forecast Analyst within an FMCG environment.
  • Experience working with short shelf-life products would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of demand planning principles and S&OP processes.
  • Experience using SAP APO or similar demand planning software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations or a related discipline would be advantageous.
