You will play a key role in the delivery of demand generation campaigns across our social media channels, with the goal of driving consistent traffic, awareness and lead volume to all the defence portfolio.

The ideal candidate will be curious, detail-oriented and eager to develop, with a genuine passion for digital marketing and a desire to grow their career in a fast-moving environment where your work directly drives impact.

Key Responsibilities:
Audience growth & lead generation
  • Plan and execute LinkedIn campaigns, organic content, thought leadership, employee advocacy and paid — with support from the Demand Generation Manager.
  • Build and optimise LinkedIn programmes that drive awareness, credibility and qualified traffic for each product/capability in the portfolio, supporting commercial and business development targets within the defence and security sector.
  • Monitor LinkedIn adspend and organic performance, flagging issues or opportunities to the Demand Generation Manager and the campaign team.
  • Work closely with brand, campaign and marketing operations teams to ensure all LinkedIn content meets brand guidelines, tone of voice, and any relevant security/compliance requirements, with learnings captured and shared across the business.
Content & community management
  • Own the LinkedIn content calendar, ensuring a consistent, relevant and timely posting schedule that reflects the organisation's positioning within the defence industry.
  • Manage day‑to‑day community interactions on LinkedIn responding to comments, messages and mentions professionally and in line with brand voice, sector sensitivities and security considerations.
  • Maintain an "always on" content pipeline, ensuring messaging stays fresh, accurate, and aligned with campaign and business development priorities.
  • Support employee advocacy initiatives, encouraging and enabling colleagues (including subject matter experts) to share and amplify content on LinkedIn.
  • Support the handover of engaged LinkedIn leads/audiences to the campaign team, ensuring data is accurate and properly segmented for further nurture.
Brand & campaign integration
  • Partner closely with the brand and campaign teams to ensure LinkedIn content is fully aligned with wider brand positioning, campaign messaging and product/proposition priorities.
  • Champion best‑in‑class, consistent customer messaging across all LinkedIn activity ensuring tone of voice, terminology and value propositions reflect brand standards and resonate with target audiences within the defence sector.
  • Act as a key link between social and the wider marketing function, feeding customer and audience insight from LinkedIn back into brand and campaign planning.
  • Support integrated campaign moments, ensuring LinkedIn activity is coordinated with brand and campaign launches for maximum impact and message consistency.
Measurement & data‑driven optimisation
  • Track and report on key LinkedIn metrics including follower growth, reach, impressions, engagement rate, CTR, CPL (where paid) and conversion rates, providing regular reports and insights to the Demand Generation Manager.
  • Monitor performance on an ongoing basis, identifying trends and recommending optimisation opportunities to the Demand Generation Manager.
  • Support the Demand Generation Manager in executing and tracking A/B testing across LinkedIn paid campaigns, organic content formats, and landing pages linked from LinkedIn activity.
Team collaboration & learning
  • Take clear briefs and strategic direction from the Demand Generation Manager, translating these into well‑executed, on‑brand LinkedIn content that reflects strong understanding of our customers, market and channel.
  • Build strong working relationships with external agencies and internal teams (brand, campaign, marketing operations, and subject matter experts across the business) to ensure joined‑up execution.
  • Stay current on LinkedIn platform updates, algorithm changes and B2B/defence sector social media best practice through reading, podcasts, webinars and industry events, proactively bringing new ideas to the Demand Generation Manager and wider team.
Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Confident using social media management/scheduling tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or similar) as they apply to LinkedIn.
  • Experience with content creation and design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for producing professional static and video content suitable for a corporate/defence audience.
  • Understanding of LinkedIn analytics and reporting, with experience using GA4 alongside LinkedIn's native analytics (Page and Campaign Manager insights).
  • Familiarity with marketing technology including CRM and email automation platforms (Salesforce, Pardot or Microsoft Dynamics is a bonus).
  • Strong understanding of brand consistency and messaging frameworks, with the ability to translate brand and campaign strategy into compelling, on‑message LinkedIn content.
  • Data‑driven, test‑and‑learn mindset with a focus on continuous optimisation.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical or complex defence/security topics into clear, credible, engaging LinkedIn content.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage a full content pipeline and campaign activity within a single‑channel focus.
