Delivery Manager - fixed term 6-12 months

A bit about Torchbox
We're the digital marketing specialists for many of the biggest charities in the UK; we build digital products for international NGOs, governments and universities; and we created Wagtail CMS, used by Google, NASA, the NHS and thousands more.

Our diverse team of over 120 people is mostly UK-based but with a significant presence in Manila as well as a network of people around the world.

We are on a mission to set a new standard for a purpose-led business. Torchbox is 100% employee-owned - everyone is a co-owner from day one and we are building an amazing, progressive ownership and learning culture. If you are excited about this mission, it's a great time to join.

We are looking for a Delivery Manager to join our team

Our Delivery Managers exist to increase value for team members, Torchbox and our clients. We aim to create a culture and environment that enables teams to thrive, collaborate, and produce impactful work. You will spend your time managing the delivery of user-centred digital services, inspiring teams by helping them connect their contributions to the missions of our amazing clients. You'll be an adept Agile practitioner with excellent facilitation and coaching skills, who can respond quickly to change and make sense of ambiguity. You will use your experience to remove obstacles, manage risks, communicate progress and ensure excellence. Although not essential, we're particularly interested in hearing from you if you have experience working with globally distributed teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ticket Creation and Refinement: Work with the team to develop detailed, well-defined tickets for upcoming tasks.
  • Backlog Management: Regularly review and prioritise the project backlog, refining and updating tickets as needed to reflect changes in project scope or requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify specifications, and ensure tickets accurately represent the work to be done.
  • Project planning: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery of project milestones.
  • Status Reporting: Provide regular updates on project progress to key stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: While testing is a shared team responsibility, the Delivery Manager is accountable for fostering a culture of quality and ensuring deliverables meet expectations before being shared with the client.
  • Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring that team and client are aware of both current project spend and forecast spend. Identify and address any budgetary issues proactively to prevent cost overruns.

Our Delivery Managers have the following skills:

  • Proven experience as a Delivery Manager or Project Manager with agency experience or/and experience in the Not for Profit and/or Public Sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with project management tools.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience of delivering to the GDS service standard is desired but not essential

What we offer

  • Become a co-owner of Torchbox, shape our success and share in the rewards
  • Work with awesome clients doing rewarding, purposeful work
  • Competitive salary + annual review + bonuses
  • Ethical pension scheme, with a 6% contribution from Torchbox
  • 27 days holiday, plus public holidays
  • Fully remote, hybrid, office full-time, whatever works for you
  • Training and conference budget to discover new ideas
  • Paid time off to volunteer for causes that matter to you
  • Health schemes and access to mental health support
  • Electric car salary sacrifice scheme (UK only)
  • Wellness programme and cycle-to-work scheme, alongside other lovely things that are good for you and the environment
  • Some pretty epic socials (virtual and in-person), weekly free veggie lunches in the offices and a bunch of other cool stuff we'd love to tell you about
