The Vacancy
Come and join us in the vibrant and historic City of Birmingham. You will get the opportunity to work on interesting and varied flood, coastal and maritime projects for our clients including the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and local authorities.
We are looking for a leader with demonstrable management and technical experience in the Flood and Coast sector to lead our Birmingham team. This is a great opportunity to bring your experience to our business and influence how we grow our presence across the Midlands and further afield.
We undertake feasibility studies to select optimum solutions; prepare business cases to unlock funding; design cost-efficient schemes using the latest digital technologies; provide construction supervision and administrative support; and advise on how to best manage and extend the life of our clients’ assets.
About the Role
Leads our Flood and Coast team in Birmingham, with a regular presence in the Birmingham office (three days a week).
Provides an essential link between the Birmingham Office and our national team of Delivery Managers.
Acts as a Senior Project Manager.
Leads on project tenders and supports framework tenders.
Develops relationships with our clients in the Midlands and secures work to develop and grow our business and your local team.
The role is suitable for candidates with a background in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Water & Environmental Management, or another related discipline.
You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge, and qualifications:
Experience working in an engineering or environmental consultancy.
A project management qualification, such as Prince2 or APM PMQ.
Experience working on flood risk management projects at appraisal, outline design, detailed design, and construction stages.
Experience working with flood and coastal risk management stakeholders, including local communities.
Experience in business development.
