We are dedicated to helping our clients thrive in the digital age by offering innovative solutions in eCommerce, digital marketing, and technology consulting. Our goal, simply, is to bring brands to life – creating original and engaging digital experiences that drive value and success.

Our office is based in Spitalfields, London and our work environment is hybrid (2-3 days in office). Our UK division of SQLI is a lean, cross-functional team with a boutique agency-style approach.

We value open communication and are committed to client excellence. Work-life harmony is important to us and we hold regular team bonding activities to keep us connected. We’re a cross-functional team and you’ll love our work culture if you’re motivated by teamwork, constant improvement and ownership.

Job Description

Position Summary:

As the Delivery Manager – UK & ME, you will directly lead a lean team of PMs and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary PMO function to ensure successful project standards are maintained and delivered in terms of commitments, quality, costs, planning, margins, satisfaction, compliance, and alignment with business goals, SQLI group project standards, and client expectations. You will also be responsible for managing a small portfolio of projects.

This role reports directly to our Strategy & Delivery Director and provides a fantastic opportunity to lead cross-functional programs, mentor a capable team of PMs and make high-impact, incremental changes to our project management practices.

What You’ll Do:

PMO Strategy and Leadership:

  • Coach, mentor, and develop a small team of PMs, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and excellence.

  • Provide visionary and hands-on leadership to the PMO, driving excellence and continuous improvement across a multi-disciplinary function.

  • Establish and communicate clear PMO objectives, performance metrics, and KPIs.

  • Oversee the SQLI Group pre-sales process and manage internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth and accurate sales process between multiple parties.

  • Set the standards of best practice by owning a small portfolio of projects.

  • Oversee resource allocation, capacity planning, and workload balancing to optimise project delivery across all business areas.

  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure the availability and allocation of the right resources for projects.

  • Act as a point of escalation for project-related issues, facilitating resolution and communication, and sharing learnings to ensure issues are not repeated.

Project Governance and Methodology:

  • Define and maintain project management methodologies, standards, and best practices, aligning with SQLI Group methodologies and local requirements.

  • Ensure the effective governance of projects, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.

  • Implement and optimise project management tools and software to enhance project tracking and reporting (e.g. Jira & Confluence).

  • Oversee collation of weekly project status updates from PMs, assess the health of all active projects, and summarise a weekly report for the SLT.

  • Responsible for supervision and control of projects and programs, in particular:

    • Financial health and margin

    • Planning of project work and forecasting of delivery

    • Tracking KPIs, including satisfaction, and SLAs

    • Planning and key deadlines

    • Review of risks and issues

    • Monitoring action plan

Qualifications

About You:

  • Proven experience (~8+ years) in PMO-related roles, primarily in the eCommerce domain, with a strong technical focus on commerce-driven technology projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of the eCommerce landscape, including B2C and B2B companies, and familiarity with industry-standard practices and technologies.

  • Strong understanding of the Commerce landscape, including implementation, customisation, and integration from a PM perspective.

  • Ability to operate in a lean team, create clarity from ambiguity and navigate an agile boutique agency-style environment.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Skilled in bringing together cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders to ensure knowledge, insight and strategy is shared and understood.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address project challenges.

  • The ability to resource plan effectively and balance your project portfolio alongside project strategy, leadership and governance responsibilities.

  • Experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.

  • A natural and confident approach to people leadership with a hands-on approach to coaching, development, and feedback.

  • Proven track record of overseeing complex projects on time and within budget involving multiple stakeholders and teams.

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (e.g. JIRA).

  • Good public speaking and presentation skills as well as the ability to define & assist in customer case studies.
