Job description

As a Delivery Manager you’ll help us achieve this by ensuring we deliver great value software, on time and to budget.This position reports to the Head of Delivery and you will work closely with other members of the Delivery Management function and the wider Engineering team in addition to Product and PMO team members.

This role requires a blend of strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on delivery management to ensure successful outcomes. The Delivery Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management and project managers, to agree project scope, manage risks, and deliver solutions that align with organisational goals. This position also plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Role Location

The role is fully remote, and so we are therefore open to candidates across the UK.

Job Description

Although this isn’t a line management role you will be responsible for the team management of around 3 Agile software and/or Site Reliability Engineering teams..

We’re looking for someone who understands how engineering works. You’ll have either come from an engineering background or have strong experience of leading highly technical teams.

You will be responsible for fostering a great culture by being a strong role model and demonstrating great people leadership. You must have a continuous improvement mindset and be constantly looking for opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Overseeing all aspects of software delivery or site reliability engineering including:

  • Ensuring all Agile ceremonies are in place
  • Breaking down goals and tasks with the team to deliver incremental value
  • Addressing or escalating issues that prevent the team from progressing
  • Supporting the team to assess and improve the flow of work through the team
  • Planning epics and / or sprints with the teams
  • Feeding in to wider project plans
  • You will provide accurate regular status reports
  • Converting the real time updates from stand-ups in to a higher level weekly updates
  • Highlighting risks and issues
  • Flagging any upcoming resource conflicts or constraints
  • Working closely with the engineering management team to resolve issues

You’ll assist us in recruiting and maintaining the best talent in the industry by assessing CVs, assisting with interviews and supporting your team members with career progression and by mentoring and coaching more Junior colleagues.

Qualifications
  • Track record of successfully delivering software development solutions using pragmatic application of Agile development methodologies
  • You have excellent influencing and negotiating skills, comfortable working with senior stakeholders to resolve problems as they emerge and ensure successful project outcomes
  • A confident and articulate communicator capable of inspiring strong collaboration within an organisation and between teams
  • Confident at managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • A self-starter with a can-do, will-do attitude
  • Obsessed with the customer and deepening customer loyalty
  • An expert at identifying ways to improve the customer experience
  • Previous experience of delivering large scale software projects using Agile methodologies
  • Previous line management experience would be beneficial
