Vario is a market leading alternative legal services provider within the law firm, Pinsent Masons. It is unique in the legal sector. Vario is a practice group within Pinsent Masons which incorporates Flexible Services, Consulting and Technology, Legal Project Management and Managed Legal Services (MLS). This role sits within our MLS team.

As the Vario team grows, we are recruiting a Delivery Manager to support our MLS Delivery teams in ensuring that we are delivering a world class legal service to our practice groups and external clients. The role will support our engagement strategies with both sectors and groups and focus on the pastoral care and development of our legal delivery teams and their capabilities. The successful candidate will:

  1. Line manage a team of paralegals focused on the delivery of work to both lawyers and external clients. This will include day-to-day supervision, training & development, and management of direct reports.
  2. Supervise the delivery of legal services to end users.
  3. Provide service delivery management support on engagements as required. This includes resource planning, quality assurance, output/efficiency reviews, and progress reporting.
  4. Continually develop delivery models to ensure best in class service.
  5. Develop effective working relationships across relevant practice groups and sectors.
  6. Work with Resource Management to effectively manage the allocation of work, and monitor/manage capacity and workload levels.

Our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm, however, we are happy to consider flexible working requests.

Please note, this role will sit within one of our specialist teams: Asset Management, Banking, Commercial, Construction, Corporate, Cyber, Data & Privacy, Document Review, Disputes, Employment, Intellectual Property, Planning, Property Development or Transaction Management.

Candidate Overview

We are looking for candidates who ideally hold the following skills and experience:

  1. Alternative legal services experience.
  2. Demonstrable experience of managing a high performing team of legal professionals.
  3. Experience in managing the delivery of legal services in a high volume, multi-location environment.
  4. Experience in influencing stakeholders in a large commercial law firm to promote the benefits of utilising alternative service delivery models.
  5. Significant experience of working with performance metrics to ensure best in class service delivery.
