About the role

As a Delivery Lead, you will take a consistent and ongoing approach to prioritisation, planning, forecasting, managing uncertainty, reporting, dependencies, risks & issues management, contingency planning and road mapping of products and initiatives. The scope of the role is full accountability of E2E delivery, supporting functional stream leads and product managers communicating in defining detailed delivery plans and reporting assumptions and the progress to key stakeholders while maintaining the cadence of delivery.

Some of your key accountabilities will be :

  • Scope Management : Work with senior stakeholders to define requirements, scope and product backlogs, then manage scope and expectations. Ability to seek out and understand problems and requirements, and to identify and suggest improvements to current approaches or practices. Support the various phases of product or initiative delivery and can contribute to, plan or help productionise these.
  • Planning : Develop comprehensive implementation plans to deliver initiatives according to performance measures and achieve business outcomes. Work closely with the Product Owners and Engineering Leads to determine and guide the appropriate makeup and distribution of team members in the delivery teams.
  • Schedule Management : Develop and use schedules to manage multiple streams of work across multiple squads including external dependencies and impacts. Implement dependency management processes.
  • Financial Management : Support effective budget management within project constraints by monitoring projected budgets against expenditure. Establish estimates and manage financials for programs, product or multiple streams. Analyse and forecast budget impacts for complex scenarios. Development of Business Cases, including financial case, for technical solutions to business problems.
  • Risk & Issue Management : Work with diverse stakeholders to identify and manage risks and issues. Establish Risk and Issue Management Plans. Understand and manage risks external to the project.
  • Team Management : Establish and manage diverse and dispersed teams. Provide opportunities for the capability development of resources. Establish and maintain Resource Plans.
  • Governance : Manage steering committees with senior stakeholders. Ensure appropriate reporting, governance and control functions are implemented. Ability to consume data, and to articulate actionable insights from this data in a language understood by the business.
  • Agile Ceremonies : Facilitate and lead Agile ceremonies, feature and story mapping (focus on BDD), Backlog grooming and feature elaboration, sprint planning, sprint review and retro.
  • Reporting : Preparation of dashboards and metrics to support delivery including velocity, cycle time, burndown, fix version reports.
  • Lead our Agile Culture : Champion Agile ways of working and coach teams in the mind-shift towards working in an Agile manner, ensure alignment against Agile best practice whilst driving business outcomes, contribute to our Continuous Delivery culture.

About you and your skills

Some of the essential things we are looking for :

  • Strong experience in project management or project delivery.
  • Experience managing medium to large complexity digital projects greater than $2m.
  • Successfully managed projects that involve multiple functional areas, multiple technologies, multiple external parties (including vendors), working with dispersed teams, cost and duration of project and considerable levels of change and uniqueness.
  • Has managed components of large-scale technology or digital rollouts.
  • Advanced understanding of agile values, principles, methods and techniques – be the champion of agile and at times coach teams and individuals outside of your team on how to leverage agile methods.
  • Strong workshop facilitation skills, including agile ceremonies, product discoveries and similar events.
  • Self-motivation, mentoring and team leadership skills, with the ability to build and foster strong relationships to meet shared objectives.
  • Tertiary degree relating to Technology, Project Management, Digital Marketing or relevant fields desirable.
  • Formal Project Management accreditation (Desirable) eg. Diploma of PM, CPPM / Reg PM, PMP, Prince2, Agile.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships, delivering customer-centric solutions.
  • Ability to make good and timely decisions that keep the organisation moving forward.
  • Ability to interpret and apply key financial indications to make better business decisions.
