Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company is recruiting for a two-person delivery team to install furniture in customers’ homes. You will complete 10–15 deliveries daily, operate with a partner, and manage heavy lifts in varying home environments.

We offer £37,271 per year (£18.15/hour), an annual bonus up to £2,000, and a £1,000 sign-on. The 4-on 4-off schedule guarantees structured time off and stable hours across a permanent role.

Qualifications

• Hold a 7.5T licence with up-to-date Digi Tacho and CPC Card.
• Valid driver’s licence held 12 months with fewer than 6 points.
• Able to lift heavy furniture and work in a two-person team.

Responsibilities

• Complete all deliveries to customers’ homes safely and professionally.
• Communicate with the customer before delivery to confirm arrival.
• Deliver to the room requested and dispose of rubbish.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and partner brands.
• Work with team and managers to improve service standards.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Comply with driving laws and company policies.

You’ll work as part of a skilled 2-person delivery team, completing 10-15 deliveries a day and installing furniture in customers’ homes. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role involving regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs and tight spaces. If you take pride in doing a job properly, you’ll thrive here.

What you'll be doing

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know you’re on your way to their address.
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do.
• Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer.
• Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately.
• Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures.

The role is for you if…

• You hold a 7.5T Licence/Grandfather rights/ROI equivalent, up to date Digi Tacho, CPC Card and valid manual driving licence
• You’ve held a valid driver's licence for 12 months with less than 6 points
• You’re ready to work as part of a supportive 2-person team.
• You’re great with people and enjoy helping customers.
• You’re comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in different home settings.
• You’ve got strong time management skills and thrive on variety.
• You take pride in your work and value safety – of yourself and those around you.
