Job summary

North Somerset Council invites applications for the Delivery and Enforcement Assistant Manager role in Weston-super-Mare. You will support the Delivery and Enforcement Service Manager, supervise staff, and lead investigations, site visits and planning-related reports to defend decisions at appeals.

The role offers full-time hours, a hybrid-working pattern with three days remote, and a salary between £49,282 and £54,495.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff
• Experience in enforcement investigations and planning applications
• Ability to deputise for delivery and enforcement manager
• Good understanding of planning control and appeals process

Responsibilities

• To manage the handling of enforcement investigations and planning applications.
• To investigate and process enforcement investigations and associated planning applications and proposals, carrying out site inspections, negotiations and preparation of reports as required.
• To lead the Councils response on high profile / strategic enforcement related matters.
• To ensure the Council’s decisions are defended at planning appeals.
• To supervise, coach and develop staff to enable them to meet agreed learning and development objectives.
• To deputise for the Delivery and Enforcement Service Manager
