Job summary

North Somerset Council is seeking a Civil Enforcement Officer for patrols across the district, primarily in Weston-super-Mare, enforcing parking restrictions and PSPO offences. The role requires clear communication, a full driving licence, and a professional, customer-focused approach.

Working hours are 37 per week on a full-time basis, with a fixed rota including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Hybrid working is available with training provided and a uniform supplied.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and professional conduct at all times.

Responsibilities

• Check vehicles in car parks and on-street areas for compliance with parking orders and legislation.
• Issue parking enforcement notices and collect evidence.
• Collect evidence of PSPO offences such as littering, dog fouling and smoking in play areas.
• Maintain and check Pay and Display machines.
• Carry out Health and Safety checks on car parks.
• Assist with local events as required.
• Check Blue Badges.
