Role Overview
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Class 2 Delivery Driver will complete tasks assigned within the designated area, focusing on timely deliveries and collections to other businesses, contributing to the Hit Rate target, and representing the company with the highest service standards during client interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations: Ensure efficient delivery of all tasks to achieve on-time delivery using hampers and cages. Complete weekly van checks and report any issues promptly. Escalate issues to the Logistics or Shift Manager as necessary.
- Quality and Customer Experience: Ensure all items arrive in the same condition as dispatched, uphold the company's positive brand image, support customer queries, communicate delivery updates, and handle customer information discretely.
- Inventory: Report low stock of consumables and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy, including checks for necessary items like straps and load bars.
- Safety: Wear PPE and uniform, report accidents or near misses immediately, and drive in accordance with highway laws and company SOPs.
- Leadership and Team Development: Assist in training new and existing staff, seek opportunities for personal upskilling, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Key Relationships: Collaborate with the Logistics Manager, Account Managers, and Shift Managers to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements
- HGV Class 2 License with no more than 3 points and at least 1.5 years of experience.
- Valid driver CPC qualification.
- Experience with multi-drop deliveries.
- Ability to lift hampers up to 20kg and move cages safely.
Additional Skills and Attributes
- Proficiency with computer systems and willingness to learn internal platforms such as OnFleet, Admin, Wash Tracking, and Convey driver app.
- Data literacy to analyze issues and count items accurately.
