Job summary

Argos is seeking a Home Delivery Driver to bring products to customers’ doors with a fast, reliable service. You’ll drive a 3.5 tonne van, perform daily checks, and keep customers informed about any delays.

You’ll also handle in-store support when not on the road and learn new digital tools to improve delivery efficiency. You’ll need a full UK driving licence for 12+ months, be over 18, and have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Over 18 years old with full UK/EU driving licence held for 12+ months.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Ability to work varied shifts across the week (Mon-Sun).

Responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver products to customers’ doors, on time and in good condition.
• Perform checks to keep the van clean, roadworthy and secure deliveries.
• Assist customers and answer questions, communicating delays when needed.
• Learn to use new technology and operate a larger vehicle in varied locations.
• Support stock room or shop floor when not on the road.
• Build knowledge of products and promotions to offer helpful recommendations.

As a Home Delivery Driver, you’ll provide an industry leading fast-track service that brings Argos products to customers' doors.

Eligibility

• You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it
• You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview and, if you’re successful, there’ll be a driving assessment when you join us
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
• Ability to work a variety of shifts across the week and three shift blocks during the day: Monday to Sunday 5:00am - 1:00pm, 1:00pm - 6:00pm, 6:00pm - 10:30pm. Your hours will be scheduled to fit around your availability and may vary from week to week. Plus, there may be opportunities for overtime, including supporting your local Sainsbury’s.

What you’ll be doing

• Driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver a variety of products to our customers doorsteps, on-time and in great condition
• Completing checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before getting out onto the road to drive safely in a variety of locations and conditions
• Serve our customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions and keeping them aware of any delays
• Confident in learning to use new technology to do your job brilliantly, comfortable driving a large vehicle in different locations from residential streets to country lanes
• When not on the road, you’ll help maintain a slick operation in the stock room or on the shop floor
• Build great knowledge about our products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations
