We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Delivery Driver to join our dynamic team at our SKIPTON Country Store. This exciting opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about serving and supporting the Rural and Agricultural industry and who wants to assist with the day to day running of the country store alongside an established distribution team, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and standards are achieved at all times.

THE JOB

To deliver products out to our customers whilst also:

  • Planning routes to ensure goods reach our customers economically, but in a timely manner.
  • Actively supporting other team members to ensure targets and tasks are completed.
  • Maintaining good working relationships with all team members.
  • Promoting the business and work to a required standard.
  • Following company procedures to complete tasks without assistance.
  • Working to get routine daily tasks done in time and to the standard required.
  • Following customer enquiries, requests and problems through and dealing with them promptly.
  • Confidently dealing with customer problems and establishing customer needs.
  • Being aware of the risks in the work environment and their potential impact on self, colleagues, customers and visitors and take action to address them.
  • Attending training and developing relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Ensuring any deliveries required on the van are done in a timely and professional manner.
  • Supporting and contributing to the effective operation of the business as a member of the branch team, including ensuring adequate levels of all stocked products are maintained in conjunction with the Branch Manager
  • Supporting the Branch in promoting the company brand and working to recognised business standards.
  • Adhering to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental.
  • Ensuring all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice, are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, FIAS, & NOPS assurance schemes.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED

  • Team player, with a genuine interest in helping others.
  • Full UK drivers licence so able to do Van deliveries to customers.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to liaise between a number of departments.
  • Exceptional customer service skills as dealing with many internal and external customers.
  • Agricultural knowledge and experience
  • Qualified Forklift Truck and Telehandler Driver with experience in actively loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Confident and competent user of Microsoft applications systems and fully IT literate.
