Job description

Are you friendly, organised, and passionate about delivering outstanding customer service? Looking for a role where you can make a real difference in your local community while developing your skills and career?

At Well, we're on a mission to create the best prescription experience in the UK. It may sound ambitious, but with our talented, supportive, and forward-thinking teams, we're making it happen every day. We believe our people are the key to our success, and we're looking for someone who shares our commitment to helping others.

About the Role

As a Delivery Driver, you'll play a vital role in supporting both our pharmacy teams and local customers. Many of the people you will deliver to are unable to visit our pharmacies themselves and rely on our service to receive essential prescriptions and healthcare products. For some of our most vulnerable customers, your deliveries are much more than a convenience, they're an important part of maintaining their health and wellbeing.

Working closely with the Delivery Team Manager and pharmacy colleagues, you'll use your local knowledge, excellent communication skills, and customer-focused approach to ensure every delivery reaches the right patient safely and on time.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A full UK Driving Licence
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A reliable, organised, and customer-focused approach
  • Flexibility to complete deliveries across varying timeslots as required
  • A genuine passion for helping people and supporting your local community

Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check prior to employment. This will include spent and unspent convictions, as well as any information held by local police that is considered relevant to the role. Employment is subject to satisfactory DBS clearance.

The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) helps employers make safer recruitment decisions and protects vulnerable groups, including children and adults who may require additional support.

Diversity & Inclusion

At Well, we’re proud to be a diverse and inclusive employer. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels valued and supported. If you have specific requirements during the recruitment process, we’ll do everything we can to accommodate you, whether that’s identifying an accessible pharmacy location, discussing flexible working opportunities, or making reasonable adjustments to support your application.

Application Process

Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we may not be able to respond individually to every applicant. If you have not heard from us within 28 days of submitting your application, please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.

About the Company

For over 70 years, we’ve been looking after the health and wellbeing of communities across the UK. Well Pharmacy (part of Bestway Healthcare) is the second largest pharmacy chain in the UK with c.760 pharmacies and a team of around 7,000 colleagues based across our Community Pharmacies, Online Pharmacy, Healthcare Services Centre, Community Drivers, Bestway Medhub & Wardles team and our Support Centre team.

Our mission is to be here for the wellbeing of our patients and customers, to provide the best community pharmacy experience in the UK for everyone, for our patients, our customers, our people, and our NHS.

The pharmacy of the future will look very different from the one we know today. It will play a huge role in transforming primary healthcare and we will play a central role in bringing it to life.

We will use our clinical expertise and technological ambition to take advantage of the potential this future has to offer us. Making medicines, advice, services and care available in the places and spaces that people need and want it most.

We want to be a great business. To be recognised as delivering a community pharmacy experience that is the best there is. To do this we want our teams to feel proud about the positive impact they make, feel valued as part of a close-knit and expert community, and feel confident in our big business that is stable, innovative, and caring.
