Brief Description

We are looking for aDelivery Coach to join the EM Apprenticeships, Graduates & Industry Development part of Network Rail on a Secondment until October 2025.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide ongoing support, communication, coaching, and guidance to apprentices and graduates and their line managers in Milton Keynes, York,Walsall, Warrington, Basingstoke, Peterborough, Romford,Paddock Wood andScotland – please note there is an expectation of travel to these areas which will be company funded.

Location: This is a hybrid role with main office location being London Stratford Place

Salary Band: Band 5 - £25,000.00 - £28,000.00 (Plus inner London allowance)

About the role (External)

What does a typical day for a Delivery Coach look like?

Your day will involve engaging with apprentices, graduates, and their line managers to ensure successful completion of the apprenticeship programme. You will monitor progress, provide bespoke solutions, answer queries, and act as a point of contact. Additionally, you will promote equity and diversity, address safeguarding concerns, and work closely with the administration team to ensure all requirements are met.

This role would suit someone who is customer-focused, approachable, knowledgeable about safeguarding principles along with having a familiarity with the challenges faced by young people. Strong digital communication skills and experience in managing key stakeholders are also essential.

Main Responsibilities

  • Engage with and proactively manage the relationship between the Network Rail Apprenticeship programme, customer, and apprentice/graduate to deliver on-time completion of the apprenticeship programme.
  • Utilise apprentice information to monitor the progress of apprentices and build bespoke solutions for individual apprentices/graduates exceeding or not meeting expectations. To include monitoring student progress, ILPs (individual learner plans) to conform with the skills funding agency and government policy and maintain safety and efficiency in network rail's infrastructure.
  • Act as a subject-matter-expert and be a customer-focused point of contact for line managers of apprentices, to answer scheme queries.
  • Identify areas of improvement for the schemes and working with the scheme development/delivery managers to improve the learner journey to better meet the requirements of the customer.
  • Monitor, report on, and take action on adherence to deadlines of line manager submissions required for the successful completion of schemes, to better support the apprentices/graduates through their journey.
  • Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion across apprentices/graduates and their place of work, to instil network values and demonstrate the right behaviours as a Network Rail employee.
  • Identify and raise any safeguarding concerns to the Apprentice & Graduate Safeguarding, Experience & Engagement Manager, taking immediate action when required to do so, in line with the appropriate procedures.
  • Work closely with the administration team to monitor that all administrative requirements of the apprentice/graduate journey are carried out, including enrolment, work/training placements, end-point assessments, Learner Management System submissions, so that all successfully complete the programme.
  • Seek and promote opportunities for continuous professional development in the fields of apprenticeship/graduate delivery, engineering, education, and industry knowledge to enhance the apprentice’s experience.
  • Take a proactive interest in the outputs of the Quality Improvement Plan, to continually add value and enhance the apprentice/graduate schemes.
  • Ability to travel nationally to meet allocated Apprentices/Graduates
