Severn Trent’s Capital and Commercial Services Business Area is preparing to deliver AMP8, with over £1 billion of capital expenditure per year to support our most ambitious capital programme ever, totaling £6.5 billion in enhancements, benefiting both our customers and the environment.

This role can be based at any of our Capital & Commercial hubs in Coventry, Derby, or Shrewsbury.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Reporting directly to the Programme Director, the Delivery Business Lead will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a capital programme across Severn Trent’s waste infrastructure project portfolio. Projects range up to hundreds of millions of pounds. As part of our Capital Delivery leadership team, you will drive efficiency through performance improvement and innovative working methods, helping us achieve our most ambitious 5-year plan.

You will provide inspirational leadership to deliver a significant and complex capital portfolio valued between £400m and £600m. You will utilize our in-house design and commercial teams, along with supply chain partners, to ensure successful delivery within the required criteria. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will help grow the business's capacity and capability to shape our long-term strategy, ensuring your teams are prepared for the next business planning period.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Ideally, you will have experience in an asset-intensive industry such as water, rail, highways, nuclear, utilities, telecoms, or similar within a large matrix organization. You will have a proven track record of managing large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working collaboratively with contract partners and stakeholders.

You will have experience in developing and leading high-performing teams, fostering a performance-driven culture, and delivering financial and operational success. The right character, positivity, and caring attitude are equally important.
