Reports To: Deli Department Manager

Are you passionate about food service and eager to create delicious meal options for our guests? Whether you have experience in fast food, as a line cook, or in a deli or restaurant setting, or no experience but a willingness to learn, we’d love to speak with you about the Deli Hot Bar Cook position at Festival Foods. You will play a key role in enhancing breakfast, lunch, and dinner experiences for our guests.

At Festival Foods, we aim to make mealtime easier and more enjoyable. Our Hot Bar offers a variety of menu items, from crispy fried chicken and savory fried fish to cheesy mac & cheese and crispy potato wedges. As a Hot Bar Cook, you’ll fry and prepare these items, helping us deliver quality and flavor.

External Job Description

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide Exceptional Guest Service: Greet guests, answer questions, and address concerns professionally and courteously to ensure a positive experience.
  • Assist Guests: Help guests find items, recommend deli products, and enhance their shopping experience.
  • Service Excellence: Ensure guest needs are met with a helpful attitude.
  • Order Fulfillment: Prepare and fulfill guest orders and special requests efficiently, following production schedules.
  • Hot Bar Display: Maintain attractive, high-quality food displays, ensuring proper protocols and item freshness.
  • Temperature & Quality Control: Monitor food temperatures and maintain logs to ensure safety and quality.
  • Organization & Maintenance: Stock, clean, and label the hot bar to keep it well-maintained and guest-ready.
  • Address Guest Concerns: Resolve issues positively, practicing the boomerang principle.
  • Attendance & Reliability: Maintain regular, timely attendance and communicate in advance about absences.
  • Support Team: Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience & Skills: Good communication skills, ability to interact tactfully with guests and staff. Experience in fast food, deli, or restaurant environments is a plus.
  • Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safety procedures and equipment operation, including slicers, fryers, and hot bars.
  • Food Knowledge: Knowledge of perishable foods and ability to work quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with kitchen equipment and ability to handle high-pressure situations.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Ability to work quickly in changing temperatures (coolers, kitchens, freezers, sales floor).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for long periods.

Work Schedule:

This position offers part-time or full-time hours, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
