Allianz Commercial in London is seeking an Delegated Underwriting Expert to join the Delegated Authority Governance team. The role supports supervision and monitoring of delegated activities with a focus on continuous improvements across the function.

You will work within Underwriting Integrity & Solutions to manage governance, facilities, and contract templates, collaborating with Lines of Business, Risk Management, and Compliance.

Job description

We are looking for an Delegated Underwriting Expert based in London.

The Team

The Delegated Authority Governance team sits within Underwriting Integrity & Solutions (UWIS) at AGCS and is responsible for all governance relating to Delegated Underwriting Authority Facilities across the business globally. The team owns and maintains the UW Facility Functional Rule, oversees the Internal Annual Facilities Review and Program Review process, and manages all contract agreement templates in collaboration with Legal & Compliance. Key responsibilities include ensuring the presentation of significant Facilities to the Underwriting Committee and Board of Management for approval, reporting on the Facility Inventory, tracking and remediating breaches of authority, overseeing sub-delegation arrangements, and acting as the central point of management for all Subject Matter clauses and addenda to Delegated Underwriting Authority contracts. The team works cross-functionally with Lines of Business, Portfolio Solutions, Distribution, Claims, Outsourcing, Risk Management, and Compliance to ensure robust controls and governance are in place throughout the full lifecycle of every Facility - from onboarding and active underwriting through to renewal and exit.

The purpose of the role is to help and facilitate an effective supervision and monitoring in respect of delegated activities whilst providing continuous improvements to the function.

Some Of Your Specific Responsibilities Could Include

• Ensuring new and renewal binders for the strategic relationship are assessed and approved in line with agreed approval process.
• Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure mid-term change requests are handled and approved in line with the unique Governance needs.
• Ensuring any breaches from Distribind are notified in line with our internal processes to the business managers and managing any queries, which arise from this oversight.
• Support the wider Delegated Governance team to ensure internal procedures and systems relating to all delegated methods of placement are kept up to date and adhere to regulatory requirements and best practice guidelines.
• Conducting ad-hoc project work in line with the Delegated Governance team strategy and supporting internal stakeholders and other members of the team where required.
• Assist in other activities of the team as required to comply with relevant AGCS procedures and policies.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders within the business.
