Job Description

This role is primarily concerned with selling delegate places over the phone onto our events and training courses, which we run globally. The products we sell are both physical and digital, with the latter becoming an increasingly important part of our offering.

The Associate Delegate Relations Manager is expected to advise customers on the range and suitability of the events and courses we run across several industries, and on any additional services offered, drawing on the experience and expertise of the business development and technical staff where required. All sales made must reflect the training needs of the customer while aligning with the overall business strategy, with the aim of maximising long-term revenue. An additional key part of the role is to identify cross-selling opportunities, understand the client’s needs, and provide information about live and future events in their relevant portfolio. Ensuring strong relationships are built and maintained with new and existing clients through excellent customer service and account management is essential.

This role operates under a hybrid/balanced working model, with a 3-day in-office expectation.

You will report to the Head of Sales of your portfolio but will also work closely with other members of the Informa Connect Production, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure that all sales activities align with the needs of the events, training, and the wider portfolio offered by Informa Connect.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Make at least 100 calls a day to contact clients and prospects – primarily a telephone-based role.
  • Generate revenue by selling large-scale events, specialised conferences, and training courses.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell our entire portfolio of events across various sectors such as Finance, Life Sciences, Maritime, Marketing, Legal & Tax, Energy & Agriculture. Follow this link to see the full offering.
  • Support the collection of revenue on sales made.
  • Provide detailed feedback to divisional managers and other departments on the progress of each event and sales campaign.
  • Identify and benchmark against competitive events.
  • Contribute to new lead generation activities using all available resources.
  • Promptly and proactively follow up on all leads.
  • Maintain consistency in sales and marketing information, keeping customers informed about current prices, discounts, target audiences, priorities, and resource availability.
  • Work closely with the wider Informa Connect teams and event team to ensure sales activities are efficient and aligned with the broader business goals.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the overall business.

  • UK - 8AM - 4:30PM
  • US East Coast - 12PM – 8PM
  • US West Coast - 2PM – 10PM
