Job Title: Degree Chemist Apprentice
Salary: £23,795 per annum plus Veolia benefits
Location: Aldermaston
Programme Duration: Level 6 Apprenticeship 48 months (other levels will be considered)
Candidate shortlisting will take place on w/c 19th & 26th of May 2025
Assessment days will take place between 2nd and 9th June 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for any student who has completed their A Levels and would like to achieve a Degree in Chemistry.
A successful candidate will need to undergo and pass a security clearance process. This process involves various checks, including background checks, criminal record checks, and citizenship check

Training and development;
The successful candidate will be given an opportunity to embark on a four-year Diploma Course and/or a Bachelor's Degree which will be fully funded by Veolia. You will have full support and resources required to successfully complete this qualification.
You will be part of the operational team, learning how to assist and support the delivery of contact requirements and the Client to carry out a range of technical chemical service tasks to support the Contract Chemist.
Full internal training will also be provided in various aspects of site operations, including health and safety, environmental protection and waste regulations.
With many of our colleagues starting as trainees, you'll receive full support and guidance from everyone throughout.
By the end of your apprenticeship, you'll have received industry-standard training and attained qualifications that will enable you to progress and reach your full potential.
What you'll be doing;
- Analyse incoming material to the site for compliance against agreed waste specifications
- To collect wastes from customer production sites and ensure the safe transportation of wastes to the on-site Waste Storage Area
- Be proficient with road transport and special waste regulations and all company procedures
- Help to ensure the site and plant operates in a safe and compliant manner
- Monitor and assign works as logged onto the AWE Waste Service Desk/Planning system

What we're looking for;
- A minimum of A-Level in Chemistry or equivalent
- Willingness to travel with occasional short stays away from home
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to learn
- Passion in chemistry and science
- Drivers License (or willingness to get one)
