Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in Reading offers a three-year Degree Apprenticeship within the Berkshire Cancer Centre, combining paid work with BSc study at the University of Hertfordshire. Training covers radiotherapy imaging, treatment preparation, planning and delivery across Reading and Bracknell sites.

Applicants should have right-to-work in the UK for the full course, and be prepared for travel between sites with at least 20% protected off-the-job learning time.

Qualifications

• 112 to 120 UCAS points or equivalent.
• GCSE grade 4 or C minimum in English Language and Maths.
• Meet the University of Hertfordshire entry requirements for the Degree Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Complete academic modules, clinical competencies and apprenticeship requirements.
• Provide safe, accurate and compassionate radiotherapy care to patients.
• Gain supervised experience in patient care, radiotherapy imaging, treatment preparation, planning, quality assurance and delivery.
• Take part fully in academic and clinical learning activities.
• Work in line with Trust policies, HCPC Standards of Proficiency, IR(ME)R regulations and professional codes of conduct.
• Demonstrate the Trust CARE values and contribute to patient care and the wider department.
• Arrange annual leave around mandatory university teaching, assessments and clinical training.
