Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Maintenance Engineer to join our team specializing in Maintenance within our Darlington Engine business. During your apprenticeship with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an industry expert and power your potential!

Course Overview

The Maintenance Engineer Apprentice role is a development position within the Maintenance department. During the apprenticeship, you will work shifts from 8am to 4:30pm, and on Fridays from 8am to 1:30pm, four days per week within the plant and one day a week at Teesside University studying towards a degree in Electrical/Electronic Technical Support Engineering. This role is 100% onsite and requires travel to Teesside University for studies.

Responsibilities

• Learn troubleshooting, assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and improvement of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Understand and adhere to safety protocols.
• Maximize equipment uptime to support production throughput and quality.
• Work with advanced technology including Robots, Cobots, PLCs, Vision Systems, and Automated Delivery Systems.
• Understand machine safety standards and regulations such as PUWER.
• Deliver improvement projects to enhance department performance.
• Collaborate within a diverse team to make Darlington the best Powertrain Campus globally.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades 9-4 (A*-C), including Mathematics, English Language, and one Science or Engineering subject.
• Minimum of 96 UCAS points at Level 3, including Mathematics; other STEM subjects are preferred but not mandatory.
• Other Level 3 STEM qualifications or vocational equivalents will be considered.
