Job summary

Mace, Preston, is seeking a Planner/Scheduler to join our Defence team on a major long-term programme, developing and maintaining robust project schedules across design, procurement, enabling works and construction.

You will work with delivery teams to define activities, logic and dependencies, perform critical path analysis, and deliver clear reporting to support predictable delivery in a secure, regulated environment. Eligibility for UK security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification (HND or degree) in engineering, construction, project management or related discipline.
• Experience developing and maintaining project schedules on construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project with strong Excel capability.
• Understanding of planning best practice: baselining, progress measurement, and critical path analysis.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with technical, delivery and supply chain teams.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining integrated project schedules across design, procurement, construction and handover.
• Maintaining schedule baselines, updating progress and ensuring logic integrity.
• Performing float, criticality and what-if analyses; supporting recovery plans.
• Coordinating with Project Managers and engineering teams to manage interfaces and constraints.
• Providing regular schedule reporting, milestones and lookahead views.
• Supporting programme assurance with evidenced planning updates and change impacts.
