Job summary

ALTEN is hiring a Project Engineering Delivery Lead to join our defence teams, delivering complex engineering work packages across major programmes. The role suits candidates with a background in Systems, Software, Hardware, Electronics, or Project Engineering who have advanced into leadership and delivery roles.

Location options include Templecombe or London, with four days on-site weekly. Mid-Senior level (7+ years) and SC clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or technical military background with equivalent experience.
• Experience managing engineering projects and delivery in complex environments.
• Strong planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management skills.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Experience in Defence, Aerospace, Naval, Security, or regulated sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of engineering work packages, ensuring cost, schedule, and quality targets are met.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders, managing dependencies, actions, and risks.
• Monitor project schedules, resource allocation, budgets, and delivery performance with project controls and leadership teams.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate risks and opportunities throughout the lifecycle with governance.
• Support bid, change, and growth activities including estimating, planning, and stakeholder engagement.
