Job summary

UTAC is seeking an Automotive Technician for Defence and Vehicle Operations to maintain and repair a range of vehicles. You will prepare prototype vehicles to collect data across tests, performing fault finding, servicing and inspections in the main UTAC workshop.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, willingness to work shifts/overtime, and adherence to UTAC safety standards. On-site work at UTAC Millbrook is expected.

Qualifications

• Excellent automotive background and knowledge.
• Completed full automotive apprenticeship (preferred).
• Some motorcycle experience is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Light vehicle repairs and general servicing.
• HGV, Bus/Coach repairs and general servicing.
• Vehicle fault finding.
• Carry out start and end of test preparation on various test vehicles to test specification.
• Diagnostic checks using various equipment.
• Conduct test vehicle measurements.
• Complete work tickets with detailed written report on work actioned.
• Liaise with supporting staff, engineers, supervisor and customers on a technical level.
• Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times
