A useful project schedule should answer 3 questions:
- What is genuinely critical?
- What has changed since the last update?
- What happens to delivery if a key date moves?
If you can build and challenge schedules that answer those questions, I'm recruiting Project Planners and Schedulers for permanent consultancy opportunities supporting UK defence programmes.
The practical planning work
- Creating, maintaining or assuring schedules, baselines, logic and dependencies
- Analysing the critical path, progress, delays and future impacts
- Challenging updates and explaining schedule risks to delivery teams and clients
Who could fit
- Hands-on scheduling in defence, or closely related aerospace, civil nuclear or maritime programmes
- Evidence of personally building, maintaining or assuring project schedules rather than just reading them or compiling PMO reports
- Primavera P6 is strongly preferred, but strong MS Project or other professional scheduling-tool experience can qualify
- Developing practitioners with genuine scheduling outputs through to experienced specialists and planning leaders
- Sole British nationality and current or previously held UK SC or DV clearance, subject to the relevant security checks
Location and pay
- Permanent opportunities across various levels, approximately £40-75K depending on the role and experience
- Candidates across the South of England, able to attend offices in London, Bristol or Plymouth or UK client sites for around 2 days per week in total
- Hybrid working arrangements, with wider UK client travel where an assignment requires it
