Fortress Recruit Limited is seeking a Product Safety and Compliance Engineer for a leading defence engineering and manufacturing organisation in Poole. You’ll drive product safety, regulatory compliance and certification across a diverse portfolio of complex defence products.

You will work with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Project teams to ensure UK and international regulatory requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle, fostering a culture of safety and

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Safety or related discipline.
• Significant experience in product safety, compliance or safety engineering.
• Experience in defence, aerospace, marine or other highly regulated environments.
• Knowledge of DEF STAN, IEC 61508/61511, MIL STD, ATEX, IECEx, REACH, RoHS, CE/UKCA.
• Experience with product certification and external regulators.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Eligibility for SC clearance (5 years UK residency).

Responsabilités

• Lead product safety and compliance across defence programmes.
• Develop and review safety cases, hazard analyses and risk assessments.
• Interpret DEF STAN, IEC, ATEX, IECEx, CE/UKCA for products.
• Prepare declarations of conformity and regulatory submissions.
• Manage certification programmes and lifecycles.
• Plan internal audits and support regulator assessments.
• Act as technical contact for customers and regulators.
• Support corrective actions from investigations.
• Develop compliance processes and training programs.
• Prepare compliance reports and risk dashboards for senior management.
