Job summary

Amey is recruiting a Defence Plant Operator for a 12-month contract, onsite at Beacon Barracks, Stafford, with potential to become permanent. The role requires joining the Army Reserve as a Sponsored Reserve; attendees of basic training may be required for those without recent military experience.

You will operate military and commercial Plant and MHE, maintain logs, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards while supporting the MOD contract.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of operating plant & MHE is advantageous but not mandatory; full training is provided if you hold a Category C (HGV) driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain platform and MHE in the UK and on deployment as a Sponsored Reserve.
• Carry out first, halt and last parade service on military and commercial Plant and MHE.
• Ensure fault reporting, accurate record keeping and updated documentation.
• Drive and operate military and commercial Plant and MHE following safety rules and vehicle classifications.
• Load and unload Plant and MHE on/off transporters/rail flats.
• Complete all job and service documentation with required signatures.
