Job summary

Experis invites applications for a Principal Architect (Networks) within a defence-focused team. Based in Bristol, the role is offered on a permanent basis and requires leading secure, scalable network architectures for stringent government/military programs.

The successful candidate will translate customer requirements into robust designs, define architecture baselines, and guide trade-off analyses while mentoring engineers and shaping group standards across technology roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Strong Network Architecture & Design experience.
• Experience within military comms systems, C4IR, Satcom, etc.
• Experience architecting within security assurance principles for Defence/Government.
• Knowledge of RF systems will prove beneficial.
• SC Clearance is essential, able to obtain DV.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into secure, scalable system designs and define architectures and diagrams.
• Define, baseline and control architecture and interface documentation.
• Lead technical trade-off analysis and make build/buy/adapt decisions.
• Set engineering standards and design patterns across roadmaps.
• Lead technical solution planning and development for proposals and bids.
• Provide technical coaching and design mentoring to engineering staff.
• Contribute to demonstrations, trials and innovation activities.
• Continuously assess emerging capabilities, standards and threats for roadmap development.
• Own design evidence to support system assurance activities.
• Own architectural design documentation and design justification at review gates.
