Job summary

Landmarc Support Services is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at RAF Spadeadam, Brampton, Cumbria. You will perform maintenance, repairs, and fabrication across engines, gearboxes, brakes and other equipment, ensuring safety and reliability. A Level 3 qualification and a UK driving licence are required, along with knowledge of health and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (e.g., City & Guilds, ONC, NVQ) or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence (Category C desirable)
• Solid understanding of health & safety practices, COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
• Knowledge of specialist equipment (e.g., plant machinery and generators)
• IT proficiency to complete documentation and reports
• Ability to operate and maintain tools and equipment effectively
• Excellent communication skills and experience dealing with customers
• Willingness to undertake training for high-risk environments (e.g., working at height or in confined spaces)

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections on engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems, and other equipment.
• Carry out diagnostic work and fault-finding to identify and resolve issues efficiently
• Use and maintain tools, machinery, and company equipment safely and effectively
• Conduct preventative maintenance and remedial repairs, including working at height or in confined spaces when required.
• Complete all documentation accurately using both IT and paper-based systems.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and asset users to ensure smooth site operations.
• Provide mentorship and support to apprentices or trainees
• Undertake driving tasks, including operating specialist plant machinery if required.
