Job summary

ECM Selection is seeking a Security Engineering Consultant in the UK to identify hardware or physical cyber threats, develop demonstrable prototypes, and deliver robust security recommendations. You will work onsite with clients and contribute to multi-year programmes of security improvement.

The role requires a strong academic background, hands-on hardware experience, and excellent communication skills for client engagement and reporting. UK defence sector experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background: 1st or 2.1 in Computer Science or Physics or similar.
• Experience building hardware prototypes for security applications (RF, firmware, networking).
• Hands-on hardware interfaces, protocols and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential hardware or physical cyber threats and assess vulnerabilities.
• Develop proof-of-concepts to demonstrate security solutions.
• Provide recommendations for hardware and software security improvements.
• Engage with clients and document findings; role is onsite with client visits.
