Job summary

Experis UK is seeking an experienced Cyber Engineering Consultant to support cyber security across defence products and platforms, including Radar, OT, IT, and embedded systems.

You will embed security throughout the engineering lifecycle, from concept to deployment and in-service support, collaborating with engineers, architects and security specialists.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in Cyber Security, Cyber Engineering, Product Security, Systems Security, or Information Assurance.
• Experience supporting MOD accreditation activities and Secure by Design processes (ISN 2023/09).
• Strong understanding of cyber risk management, threat analysis, and vulnerability assessment.
• Experience working beyond traditional enterprise IT environments, including software, firmware, hardware, OT, or embedded systems.
• Knowledge of secure system design, engineering lifecycles, and cyber security controls.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and consulting skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cyber security and information assurance activities across complex engineering programmes.
• Support product teams in implementing secure-by-design principles and MOD security requirements.
• Conduct threat modelling, vulnerability analysis, risk assessments, and security reviews.
• Develop and assess system and security architectures.
• Define and manage cyber security requirements at system and control level.

• Work closely with customers, stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver secure, resilient solutions.

We're looking for an experienced Cyber Engineering Consultant to support the delivery of cyber security across complex defence products and platforms, including Radar, Laser, Operational Technology (OT), Information Technology (IT), and advanced electronic systems.

This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of UK Defence, collaborating with engineers, architects, and security specialists to ensure security is embedded throughout the entire engineering lifecycle, from concept and design through to deployment and in-service support.

The Role

As a Cyber Engineering Consultant, you will:

What We’re Looking For

3+ years' experience in Cyber Security, Cyber Engineering, Product Security, Systems Security, or Information Assurance.

Experience supporting MOD accreditation activities and Secure by Design processes (ISN 2023/09).

Strong understanding of cyber risk management, threat analysis, and vulnerability assessment.

Experience working beyond traditional enterprise IT environments, including software, firmware, hardware, OT, or embedded systems.

Knowledge of secure system design, engineering lifecycles, and cyber security controls.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and consulting skills.

Degree in Engineering, Cyber Security, or a recognised cyber security certification.

Highly Desirable

• Defence or National Security experience
• Exposure to Operational Technology (IEC 62443)
• Experience with Radar, Laser, Electro-Optic, or other complex engineering systems
• Security architecture and system design expertise
• Product Security or Systems Security Engineering background
