Job summary

ESS – Defence, Energy and Government Services is recruiting a full-time Cleaner to join our cleaning and facilities teams. The role is contracted to 35 hours per week and supports Defence, police, and government sites across the UK.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, highly organised, and flexible, with cleaning experience in a similar role preferred but not essential. This role is part of Compass Group UK&I’s Defence, Government and Energy services sector.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Hands-on approach to cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Working with cleaning and facilities teams to keep environments safe and hygienic.
• Dusting, sweeping, polishing, mopping and vacuuming designated areas to a high standard.
• Ensuring surfaces, floors and touchpoints are sanitised regularly.
• Mopping up spillages quickly and efficiently and disposing of bin waste.
• Monitoring and restocking cleaning supplies.
