Job summary

ALTEN LTD - UK is seeking experienced Project Engineering Delivery Leads to support complex defence programmes across land, sea, and air domains from Belfast. Senior candidates with Systems, Software, Hardware, Electronics, or Project Engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The role requires SC clearance eligibility and is based on-site in Belfast, with four days per week on location. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and delivery governance are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Engineering project, delivery, or work package management within a complex technical environment.
• Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
• Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams and engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of risk and opportunity management, delivery governance, and performance reporting.
• Ability to coordinate activities across the full engineering lifecycle and drive delivery to committed milestones.
• Experience working within Defence, Aerospace, Naval, Security, or other highly regulated sectors

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of engineering work packages, ensuring activities are completed to agreed cost, schedule, and quality targets.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders, driving progress, managing dependencies, actions, and delivery risks, and providing regular performance updates.
• Monitor project schedules, resource allocation, budgets, and delivery performance, working closely with project management, project controls, and engineering leadership teams.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring effective engineering governance and successful programme delivery.
• Support bid, change, and growth activities, including estimating, planning, solution development, and stakeholder engagement.
