Job description

As the Joint Information Assurance Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for task prioritisation against the effort and expertise of the Information Assurance (IA) Technical Security Teams (TST), assessing tasking requests and allocating to the TST.

You’ll act as a conduit to the front door of Cyber Investigations, providing a consistent point of contact (POC) between customers and the IA units and the wider Cyber Investigations team, with the primary responsibility for the day-to-day task management, suitability and availability of resources and ensuring the database is up to date with the relevant reports.

You’ll also support tracking the resolution of vulnerabilities found on MOD’s Communication and Information Systems (CIS), discovered during TST tests, together with the tracking of other IA functions, including pen testing, vulnerability assessment, compliance checks and Cyber Vulnerability Investigations (CVI’s). There will also be opportunities to participate and help in the wider Cyber Investigations goals.

Responsibilities
  • Coordination of core IA tasks, managing the effective planning and control of all tests.
  • Initiate technical inspection of task requests, including pre-task technical information.
  • Recommending acceptance or rejection of tasking, based on suitability and/or availability of resources for onward transmission.
  • Provide support to the single POC between the IA Units, Permanent Joint Head Quarters and the Cyber Defence and Risk directorate.
  • Ensure all databases are correctly maintained and updated to ensure accuracy. Provide statistical information from database for management meetings and information to other departments.
  • Upload reports and products onto SharePoint and the database, including setting permissions for each document.
  • Liaise with sites to ensure timely return of action plans, record and monitor progress of outstanding issues.
