Join Defence Digital as a Data Manager within our Defence Data Office, where you will play a pivotal role in transforming how Defence manages and utilises its critical data assets. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support the Data Cataloguing lead in delivering comprehensive data curation across Defence whilst driving the adoption of enterprise-wide data capabilities.

As a Data Manager, you will focus on helping deliver the Defence Data Catalogue, a key element of the Defence Data Strategy. This working capability encompasses processes, frameworks, and technology that enables the cataloguing, curation, and governance of critical Defence Data, ensuring discoverability, reuse and multi-domain sharing of data across all Defence operations.

Additionally, the post will support the Deputy Head of Data Management to deliver on the data mandate pan-Defence to enable the return of data ownership back to Defence; ensuring data availability so it can be interoperable across frontline commands and Defence Organisations.

Responsibilities

Contribute to Defence Data Catalogue development and implementation
Aid Rollout and Adoption of the Catalogue to priority stakeholders
Support data governance framework delivery
Identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve the quality and trustworthiness of data throughout the organisation
Implement and establish wider data management competencies within the organisation (such as data quality, metadata management, master data management)
