Lorien is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Trainer to deliver high-quality, technically robust cyber training to learners. You will translate complex cyber operations into engaging practical learning and help develop capability through realistic exercises and assessments.

This remote role requires onsite training delivery in Shrivenham, on a 6‑month initial contract inside IR35. The ideal candidate brings hands-on threat knowledge, incident response expertise, and familiarity with DSAT and

Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering cyber security training – essential.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of cyber threats, network security, risk management and compliance.
  • Experience with incident response methodologies, detection, investigation techniques.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly for learners.
  • Experience designing exercises, simulations or practical labs.
  • Familiarity with Elastic monitoring/analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of DSAT and JSP 822 is desirable.

Location: Remote with onsite training delivery required in Shrivenham

Contract: 6 months initially

We are supporting a major expansion within a Cyber Training Services programme and are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Trainer to deliver high-quality, technically robust cyber training to learners.

This role is ideal for an experienced cyber security professional who is passionate about educating others, translating complex technical and operational scenarios into engaging practical learning, and helping develop cyber security capability.

Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery & Subject Matter Expertise
  • Deliver high-quality cyber security and incident response training to learners with varying experience levels.
  • Translate real-world cyber operations, threat analysis and incident handling into clear, practical instruction.
  • Act as a cyber security SME, providing credible and up-to-date guidance on cyber operations and emerging threats.
  • Ensure training content aligns with relevant industry standards and best practices.
Training Design & Development
  • Develop tailored cyber training content based on specialist tools, environments and threat profiles.
  • Produce engaging learning materials, including presentations, workbooks, labs and simulations.
  • Create realistic scenario-based exercises that mirror operational cyber incidents.
  • Support the development of assessments and hands-on tasks to measure learner competence.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience delivering cyber security training – essential
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of cyber threats, network security, risk management and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of incident response methodologies, detection, investigation techniques and tooling.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, engagingly and in a learner-friendly manner.
  • Experience designing or delivering cyber exercises, simulations or practical labs.
  • Ability to translate technical operational knowledge into structured learning content.
  • Experience with Elastic or similar monitoring/analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with learning frameworks such as DSAT and JSP 822 is desirable.
  • Defence-sector experience is not required.
