Job summary

Mace is seeking a talented Commercial Consultancy Manager to join our Defence team in Derby. Working in a highly regulated environment, you will deliver commercial and contract management services across complex programmes, advising clients and project teams, and helping drive successful outcomes.

You will bring experience in Defence or similar projects, knowledge of NEC contracts, and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering commercial management services within Defence or similarly complex projects.
• Working knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration.
• Experience supporting cost management, forecasting, commercial reporting and change control.
• Knowledge of commercial governance, contract law and construction or engineering contracts.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.
• Current SC Cleared or eligible to obtain it (essential).

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of commercial and contract management services across projects and programmes.
• Administer NEC contracts and support governance obligations and compliance.
• Provide commercial advice and support to project teams and stakeholders.
• Support cost management, forecasting, reporting and financial controls throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with the management of commercial risk, change control and compensation events.
• Support the assessment of contractor applications, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Prepare commercial reports, correspondence and contractual notices.
• Maintain accurate commercial records, documentation and audit trails.
• Build effective working relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the development of commercial best practice.
