Job Description

A performance analyst conducts analysis. In this role, you will develop performance measurement frameworks - Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), goals, user needs and benefits - and analyse the performance of a service or product against these, adapting your approach and framework appropriately and in line with any changes.

As a Senior Performance Analyst, You Will:

  • Focus on improving internal and external digital services and supporting teams across the Automation Garage
  • Lead the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance measurement frameworks across multiple projects, ensuring consistency and strategic alignment
  • Collect and present key performance data and analysis for service and work with service teams to make sure services meet the performance requirements set out in the GDS Service Standard
  • Help the service team understand user needs by providing quantitative and qualitative evidence from web analytics, financial data, and user feedback
  • Identify user needs through numerous data sources such as online behaviour through Google Analytics / Tag Manager, trends in call data volumes, and supporting user research colleagues with quantitative evidence
  • Participate in performance and data analysis communities, share learnings and findings with wider teams to transfer knowledge and capability
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including contractors and external suppliers
  • Work with project teams to procure, implement and validate appropriate analytics tools against identified performance measurement frameworks
  • Champion accessibility and inclusion standards

Person specification

Essential Experience

  • Strong experience of conducting user-centred analysis, service evaluation and product performance
  • Experience of measuring outcomes and return on investment against KPIs and performance frameworks
  • Be able to set up Google Analytics account an stage website using Google Tag Manager
  • Have experience of working with different types of quantitative and qualitative data, such as digital analytics, surveys, and call centre data to support services, and of working with or cleansing large data sets
  • Collaborate with other teams to use data to improve products and/or services
  • Have experience of communicating understanding of data security and privacy legislations, as well as validating data through quality assurance frameworks

Desirable Experience

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience of producing visualisation with software such as PowerBI, or similar
  • Knowledge of gov.uk websites and services
