Job summary

Logix Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Deep Sea Import Clerk to join a busy freight operation in Basildon, Essex. The role focuses on managing import containers, processing customs entries, IPAFFS compliance, and coordinating shipments with internal teams.

The ideal candidate has prior Deep Sea Import/Customs experience, knowledge of import entries, and containerised freight handling. A driving licence is essential, and IPAFFS training will be provided to the successful applicant.

Deep Sea Import Clerk - £35,000-£40,000

Location: Basildon, Essex

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Deep Sea Import Clerk to join a busy and established freight operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in Deep Sea imports.

The Role:

• Managing Deep Sea import containers, predominantly meat products
• Processing import customs entries
• Handling IPAFFS requirements - full training will be provided
• Tracking containers and managing shipments through to release
• Processing PIN releases
• Liaising closely with the in-house container haulage department
• Dealing with customers, suppliers and other relevant parties
• Ensuring all documentation and import processes are completed accurately and on time

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in a Deep Sea Import/Customs role
• Current knowledge of import entries
• Experience with containerised freight
• Knowledge of IPAFFS is advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confident communicating with customers and internal departments
• Able to work effectively in a busy team environment
• Own car and driving licence essential
