Job summary

Bouygues Construction SA is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support geotechnical and foundation works on the Lower Thames Crossing project. You will develop practical, safe, buildable designs for deep foundations and coordinate with construction teams and consultants.

The role requires strong numerical and reporting skills, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and a commitment to high-quality engineering delivery on a high-profile infrastructure programme.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in civil infrastructure design for major projects.
• Experience with deep foundations, piling, diaphragm walls, or geotechnical works.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design activities with construction delivery.
• Chartered status desirable; ICE membership advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering designs and technical solutions for piling, diaphragm wall, ground improvement and deep foundation works.
• Review and produce design calculations, reports, drawings and documentation.
• Coordinate design interfaces between design, construction and temporary works teams.
• Support value engineering and design optimisation for safety and cost.
• Assist in mentoring Graduate and Junior Engineers where appropriate.
