Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist to join the team at The Outpatient Pharmacy at the James Cook University Hospital. The successful candidate will support the delivery of outstanding outpatient pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with professional, ethical, and legal standards, as well as locally agreed policies, procedures, and guidelines. The role involves contributing to the daily workflow to maintain high-quality services for customers, hospital staff, and other service users, while demonstrating effective leadership in line with the General Pharmaceutical Council’s code of conduct.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. This includes:

Supporting the professional development of staff in accordance with operational service requirements.

Promoting a learning culture that focuses on both professional and personal development for colleagues.

Coaching and mentoring the team to ensure engagement and success in their roles.

Contributing to the delivery of exceptional outpatient pharmacy services with a focus on customer satisfaction and effective communication.

Collaborating confidently with other healthcare professionals within the hospital setting.

We are seeking a motivated and positive individual with strong teamwork skills, flexibility to adapt to change, and the confidence to liaise effectively with other healthcare professionals.

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides leadership and improvement training to all new staff members. This training programme aims to enhance understanding of leadership and management skills within the NHS.

New staff are expected to participate in the leadership development programme and the Quality Improvement Programme, which includes:

Exploring leadership within the NHS.

Promoting Trust Values and Behaviours.

Developing leadership effectiveness and skills.

Attaining practitioner-level proficiency in quality improvement, enabling you to lead and complete quality improvement projects within your role.
