Summary: A renowned provider of acute and community healthcare in vibrant East London is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the team in their hospital-wide pharmacy services. With a recent “Outstanding” CQC rating and a commitment to exemplary healthcare, education, and research, the hospital is investing in both its people and facilities.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will collaborate with an experienced, forward-thinking team and utilize innovative systems to ensure patients receive pharmacy care with the highest levels of safety and effectiveness. Your responsibilities will include rotating across the dispensary and distribution/procurement services, dispensing medicines accurately, providing medication counseling, maintaining appropriate stores, and offering effective medicines management services.

Exciting projects are underway, including the implementation of automated medicines cabinets (Omnicell) in all clinical areas. Thorough training will be provided for top-up services, maintenance assistance, and supporting nursing staff using the new system.

Opportunities for clinical training and CPD are extensive, with a focus on attaining Accuracy Checking and Good Clinical Practice accreditation. Previous hospital-based/accuracy checking experience is not essential, and Pharmacy Technicians from community or primary care backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

This is a permanent full-time position (37.5h), with part-time and flexible options considered.

Person Specification:

  • (Essential) NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services Skills / Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians / equivalent qualification
  • (Essential) Registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
  • (Desirable) Qualification as an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT)
  • (Desirable) Previous hospital pharmacy experience
