Location: HammersmithRole: Design and Technology Teacher (FullTime Permanent)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Design and Technology lessons across Key Stages 34 covering various specialisms with an emphasis on innovation.
  • Inspire students to develop a deep understanding of design processes materials and manufacturing techniques encouraging innovative solutions within Design and Technology.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and enhance the Design and Technology curriculum integrating new technologies and approaches.
  • Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress in Design and Technology focusing on the development of innovative design solutions.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of workshop equipment and resources encouraging experimentation and innovative use within Design and Technology.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Design and Technology Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience 1 teaching Design and Technology at secondary level (ECTs welcome to apply) with a demonstrated interest in innovative design practices.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles materials and manufacturing processes relevant to Design and Technology with an awareness of emerging technologies.
  • Excellent communication organizational and interpersonal skills with a focus on safety in the Design and Technology workshop and the ability to encourage innovative thinking.
  • A passion for fostering creativity problemsolving skills and an innovative mindset through Design and Technology.
