Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Day Technician in our Decorator Area within the Days Engineering Team.

Salary: £52,045 per annum

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 3:30pm, Fridays 7:00am to 3:00pm

The role involves troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on production equipment, including manual and mechanical functions to ensure equipment operates according to customer specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing safe working practices for routine and non-routine tasks.
  2. Managing the Apriso system and completing work orders within deadlines.
  3. Identifying and fixing process performance issues.
  4. Conducting daily checks on plant and production equipment.
  5. Monitoring equipment condition continuously.
  6. Performing routine and planned overhauls.
  7. Executing planned and ad hoc maintenance, including height/diameter adjustments.
  8. Implementing mechanical improvements.
  9. Supporting trials, new equipment installation, and commissioning.
  10. Monitoring spare parts inventory.
  11. Rebuilding unit spares as needed.
  12. Training and supporting personnel.
  13. Providing shift support when required.
  14. Performing turning, milling, and grinding work as necessary.
  15. Operating FLT when required.

Qualifications:

  • Time-served apprenticeship in Engineering/Mechanical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • HND/HNC or equivalent (desirable).
  • Electrical qualification is an advantage.
  • FLT license or willingness to train.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word.
