As a Painter & Decorator at HC-One, you will undertake painting and decorating duties to present the homes to the highest standards, helping HC-One become the First Choice Care Home in the community. Your responsibilities include maintaining a clean, safe, and homely environment to meet the needs of Residents and Colleagues. You must be responsive and flexible to adapt to the changing needs of the Homes.
Note: This role requires working with a cluster of homes in Derby and Nottingham areas.
You will report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accidents involving Residents, Colleagues, or yourself. You must understand and ensure the implementation of the Care Home’s Health and Safety policies, emergency, and fire procedures. This is a full-time position covering multiple care homes; therefore, you must be able to drive, as a shared company vehicle will be provided.
We are looking for someone with effective engagement and communication skills with Residents, the Home Manager, and other Colleagues. Your duties include general painting and decorating throughout the Care Home, such as making good any damage prior to decoration, wallpapering, painting walls, ceilings, and fixtures and fittings. You will ensure the implementation of health and safety policies, promote safe working practices, and maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality. You will also complete mandatory and specialist training related to your role, either on or off-site, to maintain and update your professional knowledge and competence.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take if concerns arise. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their roles and undertake additional training as needed. You should be able to seek advice and escalate concerns appropriately.
