Job summary

Shillito Group recruitment is seeking a Quality Controller to join an established manufacturing business in Rotherham. This hands-on role works within a busy decorating and production environment.

You’ll be responsible for checking finished containers, carrying out quality inspections and ensuring products meet the required standard before they move on, with a general operative element to keep the production area running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience in a quality-focused role within a warehouse, manufacturing or production environment.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in recording results.
• Willingness to support packing and general operative duties as needed.
• Strong communication and practical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out quality checks on finished decorated containers.
• Complete AQL assessments and adhesion/durability tests.
• Check print quality against specifications and perform visual inspections.
• Record test results and batch information accurately.
• Identify and report quality issues and support general production activity.
• Keep the working area clean and tidy and help look after machinery.
• Assist with packing and other general operative duties when required.

Quality Controller

Rotherham

£36,000 per annum based on current 48-hour shift pattern

Permanent

Shillito Group are recruiting for their client for a Quality Controller to join an established manufacturing business in Rotherham.

This is a hands-on quality role working within a busy decorating and production environment.

You’ll be responsible for checking finished containers, carrying out quality inspections and making sure products meet the required standard before they move on.

There is also a general operative element to the role, but this is mainly keeping the area clean and tidy, looking after machinery and helping keep the production environment running properly.

Salary & Working Hours

£36,000 per annum based on the current 48-hour working week

Equivalent to £14.42 per hour

Current shift: Monday to Thursday, 6am to 6pm

There is a view for the shift pattern to move to Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm

If the shift pattern changes, salary would reduce in line with the lower 37-hour working week
